Everything You Need To Know About Airpods
What if I could exercise and not have the phone in my pocket, or use one of those armbands? What if I could wake up and pop wireless headphones in my ears, so I could meditate without spending time looking for an adapter?
I decided to buy AirPods, they are expensive but honestly, if they lived up to the hype, their price did not seem unrealistic. The absence of the cable is a deal-breaker, you do not realize how tangled life is till you don’t have to deal with them. It only made it so much easier to listen to an audiobook or podcast while I tackled everyday mundane chores.
You cannot shake them off either, ergonomically fitting in my ears, they stay put whether I’m cycling or even in my Pilates workout. I was also impressed by the distance I could be away from my phone and still stay connected. If getting 30-40 feet away without losing signal isn’t freedom, I’m not sure what is.
With regards to their battery life, it isn’t so bad, a single charge can get you around 5 hours of listening time and roughly 3 hours of talk time. This has considerably improved with the Apple-designed H1 chip. But not to forget the storage case for the AirPods also charges them which means you are carrying more than 24 hours of listening time around with you. And when the battery is on the brink it only takes around 15 minutes to get another 3 hours.
If you are looking for noise cancellation the AirPods do block ambient noises, but you can still opt for the noise transparency to let them all back in too.
The versatile functionality of the AirPods lets you customize double taps or a squeeze for each earpiece to play/pause music, Ask Siri, answer calls switching between noise cancellation and transparency mode, etc. By default, AirPods sense when they’re in your ear and receive the audio from your device. They automatically stop playing when you take one out of your ears and resume when you put it back in. This is a nice feature if someone approaches you when you’re out, especially since it gives the impression you didn’t hear them start with, and now they have your full attention. When you’re done chatting, just put the AirPod back in your ear, and you’ll pick up wherever you left off.
Everybody loves Apple AirPods, evident when you go anywhere spotting the striking white “stems” poking out of peoples’ ears. It has become a staple in my everyday life and is easy to store. The increase in productivity I get from them makes them well worth the price I paid.
